Regrettably, as we age, our skin cells lose the capacity to preserve
moisture and the tissue in the deeper layers of the skin break down, flatten and
thin. The evils of time, genetic makeup, sun exposure, smoking, and the use of harsh
drying agents, such as soap or makeup, take their toll in the unkind
developments of the visible evidence of aging including: spots,
growths, wrinkle lines, stretched pores, and change in complexion
texture. Happily many of these changes are reversible. Professional skin care can help
improve these even when plastic surgery
alone cannot eliminate it.
We offer a variety of spa facial peeling services including: glycolic peels, TCA peels, salicylic peels and enzyme peels. Varying from light to deeper peeling (5%-30%) allowing for optimal results with reduced down time. Our esthetic skin care specialists will evaluate your specific needs to determine what level of peel will best suit your unique skin-type needs.
Facial Chemical Peels Will:
Deep clean pores and exfoliate the dead surface layers of the skin to reveal a more even and glowing complexion. This is an effective way of treating acne, acne scarring, breakouts, hyperpigmentation (dark spots), and uneven skin tones.
This service also slows
and/or reverse the aging process by increasing collagen production
and increase elastin density to plump skin cells at a deeper level. Each peel is followed by a anti-aging serum to encourage rapid healing and increase cellular turn-over.
Though a single chemical peel service will improve your skin texture and reduce signs of aging, it is highly recommended that each participant consider a series of chemical peels to obtain optimal results.
Types of Spa Chemical Peels:
Lactic Acids (Alpha Hydroxy)
Derived from milk, milder than glycolic acid, and typically better for working on hyperpigmentation problems. Licorice extract, an effective skin lightening additive is used this type of peel. Appropriate for normal, dry, or oily skin. Alpha hydroxy peels penetrate the epidermis-only. A good all around peel for the novices and sensitive skin types. Because the deeper layers of the
skin are left intact, a healthier, refreshed appearance is attained
with no down time. A real plus for busy individuals.
Glycolic Acid/Fruit Acids (Alpha Hydroxy)
A good all-around acid for normal-oily skin types to exfoliate the skin. Though more invasive than a lactic acid, this peel also only penetrates the epidermis. Alphahydroxy acids (glycolic) topical skin rejuvenation is a
superficial peel which assists in more rapid removal of the damaged,
dry layer of the skin surface. It helps the deeper skin layer (dermis)
retain water like younger skin without excessive irritation, gives the
skin a smoother look, and helps the correction of minor wrinkles and
pigment spotting. It is many times used in conjunction with other skin
care products to enhance the effect. Because the deeper layers of the
skin are left intact, a healthier, refreshed appearance is attained
with no down time. A real plus for busy individuals.
Pumpkin Exfoliating Masque w/5% Glycolic Acid
A wonderful combination of enzymatic properties, along with an alpha hydroxy acid exfoliates the skin, refines texture and brighten all skin tones. It is a favorite among peels. Minimal to no irritation with this type of peel. Leaves a skin with a healthy glow.
Salicylic Acid (Beta Hydroxy)
Oil soluble, thus making this acid perfect for oily and/or acneic skin types that require deep pore cleansing coupled with desincrustation of debris and comedones. Used in the 3% - 15% strengths for oily skin and comedone control. This acid penetrates the upper layers of the epidermis only. Excellent choice for an ongoing skin care regime.
Trichloreacetic Acid (TCA)
Trichloroacetic acid (TCA) is a medium depth peel which penetrates the
skin to stimulate cell renewal and help rebuild
elastic tissue and
collagen. Healing typically occurs in 2-3 days. There is a light to
moderate skin flaking. TCA peels are more aggressive treatments then
glycolic acid. The concentration of TCA varies from 20-50% depending on
the client. Deeper peeling class of acids used for acne, lines, wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, scarring. Longer lasting results, more intensive. This peel penetrates the epidermis, into the upper layers of the dermis, thus producing a more effective peeling experience. We begin with a low strength with this particular acid and increase as necessary and tolerated. Being a more invasive peel, this treatment requires a strict at home skin care program with professional facial treatments to ensure optimal results.
Non-Acid Enzyme Peel
All natural enzymes from papaya (papain) and pineapple (bromelain), safely dissolve surface skin debris and leave skin feeling soft, cleansed and refreshed. Our enzyme peel is an effective strength, perfect for sensitive skin that is non-tolerant of acid usage. Good for most skin types. Leaves skin with a clean fresh feeling.
