WHAT ARE EYELASH EXTENSIONS?
Eyelash Extensions are a revolutionary new treatment that lengthens
and thickens eyelashes. Extensions are single strands
of synthetic or Real Siberian Mink (very soft & Light) eyelashes that are curved to replicate a natural eyelash.
One single strand is then applied to each of your individual eyelashes,
one lash at a time, for a natural, fuller, dramatic, or extreme look.

THE PROCEDURE
After a professional consultation where the lash
technician explains the procedure, care and benefits of the eye lash
extensions, she will bring you into a spa treatment room. Here you will
relax on a comfortable spa table, with a bolster under your knees and
neck pillow for complete body support and relaxation. Once your eye make
up is removed and your bottom lashes protected, you are ready to
receive the extensions. Each individual lash is dipped in a special
bonding agent and applied to a natural individual lash. Great care is
taken to avoid skin contact. On average, each eye will require between
25 - 40 new lashes, depending on the desired look. More for a more lush
look. The entire procedure averages about 90 - 120 minutes and is very
relaxing. You emerge with a revitalized, uplifted look to your eyes. |
AFTER CARE
To
get the most out of your eyelash extensions, you need to strictly
follow some simple instructions. The first 48 hours are crucial to the
bonding procedure, so:
• ABSOLUTELY NO WATER should on eyelashes for 24 hours
• No steaming, swimming or washing face with hot water for 48 hours
• Emollients, creams, and oils destroy eye lash bonding agent
• Use eye creams sparingly and avoid lid and/or lash
• Do not use mascara or remover. It shortens the life of the extension
• Do not use eye lash curler. It will break the lashes and/or crease them
• Do not rub lashes when washing your face - pat dry after cleansing

Do not pull on eyelashes
• The bond is so strong that
it will pull out real eyelash with the extension

BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT
Remove all
eye makeup and clean your lashes with mild, oil free cleanser. Do not
use oil based makeup removers to clean your lashes prior to the
application. Do not put on any mascara. We don't want to spend time
cleaning your lashes. We'd rather spend time working on perfecting your
lashes. If you wear contact lens, please remove them and wear glasses or
bring a lens case and remove them when you arrive at your appointment.
Plan to set aside 1.5 - 4 hours for your appointment depending on the style of extensions you are having applied. Many of my
clients fall asleep during the procedure. We want you to relax during
this procedure so we do all we can to make you comfortable. Enjoy!
QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
- Can I use Mascara on my extensions?
For those
dye hard fans the answer is "It is NOT recommended". It will shorten the life of the extensions and we are not responsible for the effects of mascara application.
You will not need to use mascara with these extensions.
- * Most mascaras are petroleum
based, will break down the bonding agent of the extensions, and
dramatically shorten their lives. Because your bottom lashes touch your
top lashes when the eye is closed, we recommend not using your normal
mascara on your bottom lashes as well. The goal is to go mascara-less.
- Will these extensions pull my own eyelashes off?
If you twist, brush aggressively, pull on your extensions or rough
house them too much, your eyelash will come off with the extension. Not
to worry however, your lashes will grow back without any problems. The
best thing to do is to treat your lashes with respect and be gentle with
them. The gentler you are the longer they will last.
- I sleep on my stomach. Will this affect my lashes?
If you sleep on your stomach, or sleep with a pillow orblanket over your
head, or cover your eyes with sleeping mask, the longevity of your lashes
will be greatly diminished. Side sleepers will notice that the eye that
is on the side they sleep on will loose lashes a bit more than the side
that is up. This is normal.
- How long my lashes last?
With proper care, your lash extensions will last as long as your own
lash. The life cycle of natural lashes is about 10 to 12 weeks. In order
for us to successfully bond a lash to your own lash however; we must
target a lash that is long enough to support the length of the
extension. Typically these lashes are about 5 to 6 weeks old and are
close to full maturity. This leaves you with about 4 to 6 weeks of wear
before the last lash falls off. Since your own lashes fall off at
different intervals, your extensions will slowly be shed off with the
natural lash over the 4 to 6 week period. It is natural to lose old
lashes, so you will lose some. Because of this, touch ups are
recommended about every 2 weeks to maintain the fullness of lush lashes.
It’s like caring for your shellac, acrylic or gel nails. Keep them up!
- Is the product FDA approved? Is it safe? Currently
the FDA does not regulate eyelash extensions because the eyelash
extensions are applied to the natural eyelash hairs and do not touch
the skin. The primary ingredient in our adhesive is the same ingredient
used by plastic surgeons in the U.S. for suture-less wound closure. The
application process is pain-free and relaxing. In fact, many clients
fall asleep during the procedure. However, improper application by an
unqualified technician can cause damage to your eyes and eyelids. Do
not trust your eyes to just any spa or technician. EyeLash Extensions are the result of a great amount of research and are the absolute
longest lasting and best quality available.
